FHSAA Regional Track & Field Meet: 1A Region 1

****Coaches Information for the 2014 Class 1A Region 1****

1. We will definitely need assistance in the field event officiating.
(Triple jump, long jump, high jump, shot, discus, and pole vault)
All schools should have received a packet from Florida High in the mail informing you of your on field responsibilities.

2. No one will be allowed inside the track unless they are a competitor or an official.

3. The warm up area will be the practice field adjacent to the track.

4. Team camp areas need to be set up on the visitor side of the field and around the practice field/warm up area (along the fence so the field is usable for warm up.)

5. Please communicate to your athletes there is to be no jumping of fences. They will be disqualified if they jump.

6. We are asking that all athletes watch from the visiting side of the field and allow spectators and coaches to use the home side stands.

7. The girls long jump/triple jump is the one closest to the high jump pit on the visitors side.

8. Clerk of the course will be set up at the gate behind the start of the 100m dash.

9. PLEASE Remind all spectators that it will be $6.00 charge at the gate.

12:00pm - 4 x 800 Relay (2 sections)

12:00pm - Field Events
Girls Long Jump (Followed by Girls Triple Jump)
Boys Long Jump (Followed by Boys Triple Jump)
Girls Pole Vault (Followed by Boys)
Boys High Jump (Followed by Girls)
Girls Shot Put (Followed by Boys)
Boys Discus (Followed by Girls)

2:00pm - Prelims (Rolling Schedule)

5:00pm - Finals (Rolling Schedule)

Advancement Rules:
The first four contestants in each individual event and the first four teams in each relay event will advance to the State Championships (Friday, May 2nd 2014 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville). All Ties will be broken for advancing.

Field Events (Horizontal Jumps and Throws):
The best 9 distances (Rule c1 - one more competitor than there are scoring places shall qualify for the finals), in each preliminary event (first 3 throws and jumps) will move on to finals for an additional 3 throws or jumps. Ties for the final place shall also advance to finals. The finals shall be competed in one flight. Best mark from all 6 distances will be scored. All legal marks will be measured.

Preliminary Events:
The top three from each heat plus the next two fastest times will move on to finals.
Non-Preliminary Events:
All heats against time, with the fastest heat scheduled second. The fastest 4 athletes/relays will advance to the State Meet
