Jimmy Carnes Girls Combined Results: Freshman Ford Runs Fastest 400 Of Meet Feb 08, 2016

Northeast freshman Jan'Taijah Ford clocked the fastest 400m time of any age group with her 56.70 in the 15-16 year old race. Ford also notched the third fastest 200m time (25.07) behind World Youth silver medalist Khalifa St. Fort and SEVENTH grade phenom Tamari Davis. We combined the 13-14, 15-16, and 17-19 results to see who had the fastest times/best marks in every event! 

Final Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet Ends On High Note, Nationally Ranked Marks & New Meet Records Feb 07, 2016

The Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet has been the starting point to the year for many of Florida's best and brightest track and field standouts over the past nine years. Due to renovations in the "O-Dome", the 2016 edition would be the last, ending an era of indoor meets in the state for the unforeseeable future. The meet went out in style this weekend providing a show for the fans that saw them witness nationally ranked times, new meet records, and the future of the sport!

Khalifa St. Fort Makes 2016 Debut With Born 2 Do It Track Club Teammates At Jimmy Carnes Feb 05, 2016

IAAF World Youth silver medalist Khalifa St. Fort will make her 2016 track debut at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. St. Fort, who has committed to UCLA, will compete in the 55m dash and 200m dash and represent the Born 2 Do It track club headed up by Trinidad and Tobago and NBC analyst Ato Boldon. Boldon was gracious enough to interview Khalifa before the race at their home base in Miramar. See what St. Fort, who boasts a 100m personal best of 11.19 and 200m PR of 23.50, had to say about building off the success from 2015, and competing on an indoor track for the first time in her career.

Saturday the best athletes and teams from around Florida will head to Gainesville, for the 9th and final Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. For many, this is their first indoor meet and the beginning of their road in the 2016 season. Jimmy Carnes All-Time Bests: Girls Sprints/Hurdles - Shayla Sanders Sets Standard Feb 03, 2016

Looking over the names on this list should excite any sprint fan. Current UF Gator Shayla Sanders set a Gator's school record just this past weekend in the 60m dash. Sanders posted two US#1 times as a senior at Boyd Anderson when she ran 6.85 in the 55m dash and 23.89 for 200 meters in 2012.Gator freshman Sharrika Barnett broke the 400m record in 2015 as a senior at Oak Ridge, while LSU sophomore Daeshon Gordon holds the record in the 55mH as a Boyd Anderson Cobra. Check out the all-time bests in the sprint/hurdle events at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet.

I've seen numerous great races in my time covering high school track in Florida, but Marvin Bracy's 6.08s 55m dash at the 2012 Jimmy Carnes was perhaps one of my favorites. Bracy, who now runs for Adidas anticipated the start perfectly and scorched a star studded field with names like Kendal Williams, James Clark, Ceo Ways, and more on his to way a high school national record that still stands today! Jimmy Carnes All-Time Bests: Girls Distance Events: Edwards Top Ten In All Three Feb 02, 2016

Former Fort Myers standout Emily Edwards had hopes of breaking Stephanie Strasser's one mile record (5:04.16) set at Jimmy Carnes in 2010, but fell just short with her 5:04.98. Edwards who is now at the University of Alabama ranks third in the 800m and eighth on the all-time list in the 3000m as well. See the top all-time marks in the girls distance events set at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet.

Jimmy Carnes All-Time Bests: Boys Distance Events: Teixeira Takes Charge In 800 Feb 02, 2016

Florida State Seminole Otniel Teixeira owns the fastest 800m time in Jimmy Carnes meet history. Teixeira ran 1:55.74 as a senior at Lake Brantley High School. Matt Mizereck of Leon was the only runner to break 8:40 in the 3,000m while the top 50 mile times are all under 4:37! Take a look at the All-Time marks in the boys distance events.

Cocoa senior Jeremy Lawson returns to his hometown of Gainesville for the 9th Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Lawson owns the meet record in the long jump with his 22'10.5" leap from 2015. Check out the all-time marks for every field event! 

Youth National Champions, State Champs, World Youth Medalist Headline Latest Jimmy Carnes Performance Lists Jan 22, 2016

Two of the top youngsters in the country Tamari Davis (left) and Briana Williams (right) will face off in the 55m dash along with Georgia's Trinity Flagler. 8th graders Williams and Flagler and Davis a 7th grader are two of the marquis names in the youth division at the 2016 Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. The high school age group features names like World Youth silver medalist Khalifa St. Fort, Florida state champion Alfreda Steele, and Georgia state champion Taylor DeLoach. 1A Cross Country state champion Luke Peterson  will debut his final season at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet in February. Peterson is one of the front runners for the mile with his personal best of 4:22.40 for 1,600 meters. See who else is entered in the meet as of 1/5/2016.

Northeast hurdler Damion Thomas has been coming to the Jimmy Carnes Youth Indoor Meet since 2013 when he was a freshman and hasn't lost a race in the 55m hurdles in three years at the event. Thomas, a two-time state champion in the 110m hurdles and 2015 Brooks PR Invitational champion will be the one to beat again in 2016.See which athletes are signed up for this year's edition of the Jimmy Carnes Youth Indoor meet.
