The 2016 Katie Caples Invitational lived up to the hype as one of the top meets in week five. The event featured eight races ranging from the middle school level to elite varsity. We merged the results of all the races to find out where all the individuals and teams would stack up in head to head competition.
The Bolles boys and Bolles girls ranked first and second respectively in our Saucony Flo 50 team rankings showed why they are two of the best in the state after both team titles against a loaded field at the Katie Caples Invitational this weekend at Bishop Kenny High School. The Bolles boys won with sophomore standout and state leader Charles Hicks paving the way in 15:49. On the girl's side, Fletcher's Kayley Delay remained undefeated dipping under 18 minutes with a FL#3 mark of 17:55.
Kayley Delay ran a FL#3 time of 17:55 at the Katie Caples Invitational in Jacksonville Saturday night. Equally impressive as her time was the quality of competition she beat with names like Caitlin Collier of Bolles, Alyson Churchill of Lincoln and Ana Wallace of Chiles just to name a few, as well as several of our Saucony Flo 50 top girls teams. Cedric Gillette was on-site and captured over 1,250 photos of all the action!

The Katie Caples Invitational has been one of the most competitive meets in North Florida for over a decade. Ocala Vanguard's Kelly Parrish owns the meet record with a time of 17:43.00 from 2004 while Creekside's Jimmy Clark set the boys record of 15:18.00 in 2010. He's followed by three Bishop Kenny alums Colin Barker (pictured above), Michael Wallace, and Chris Mullaney. We take a look at the top 500 all-time performances on both the girls and boys side.
An exciting evening of cross country competition in Jacksonville will be underway this Saturday at the Katie Caples Invitational hosted at Bishop Kenny High School. Action begins at 5pm with the girl's middle school 3k race and continues through the night with the final race, boys elite 5k, launching at 8:50.
