2017 MARION COUNTY (MCIAC) TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
(AS DISCUSSED AT THE SPRING SPORTS COACHES MEETING)
THE J.V. CHAMPIONSHIPS (9TH AND 10TH GRADERS ONLY) WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 21, AT NORTH MARION HIGH SCHOOL.
THE COACHES MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 5:00, FIELD EVENTS AND 4 X 800 RELAY WILL BEGIN AT 5:30, AND RUNNING FINALS WILL BEGIN ABOUT 45 MINUTES AFTER THE 4 X 800 ENDS (ALLOWING TIME FOR FIELD EVENTS TO FINISH). WE WILL TRY TO BEGIN FIELD EVENTS SOONER, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
ENTRIES ARE UNLIMITED FOR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS; ONE RELAY TEAM PER SCHOOL. COACHES (SCHOOLS) WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RUNNING THE SAME FIELD EVENTS THAT THEY ARE ASSIGNED FOR THE VARSITY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
NORTH MARION WILL PROVIDE THE STARTER, THE CLERK OF COURSE AND HURDLE CREW.
THE VARSITY (MCIAC) CHAMPIONSHIPS (9TH THRU 12TH GRADE) WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, MARCH 24, AT FOREST HIGH SCHOOL.
THE COACHES MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 9:00; FIELD EVENTS AT 10:00, 4 X 800 RELAY WILL BEGIN AT 10:30, AND RUNNING FINALS WILL BEGIN AT 12:30. THIS IS A SCHEDULED TEACHER WORKDAY (NO SCHOOL)SO PLAN AHEAD FOR BUSES, LUNCHES, ETC !

GIRLS..THEN BOYS POLE VAULT (FOREST);
GIRLS AND BOYS LONG JUMP (VANGUARD AND LAKE WEIR); THEN
GIRLS AND BOYS TRIPLE JUMP (VANGUARD AND LAKE WEIR);
BOYS DISCUS (WEST PORT) AND GIRLS SHOT PUT (NORTH MARION); THEN
BOYS SHOT PUT (NORTH MARION) AND GIRLS DISCUS (WESTPORT);
(DUNNELLON) WILL HELP WITH SHOT PUT OR DISCUS AS NEEDED
..4 JUMPS 4 THROWSNO PRELIMS ALL FINALS JUMPING / THROWING EVENTS WILL BE RUN IN FLIGHTSTHE TOP SEEDED JUMPERS/THROWERS IN THE FIRST FLIGHT.
HIGH JUMP AND POLE VAULT WILL BE CONTESTED LIKE NORMAL (WITH INCREASING HEIGHTS)

..ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY (OR BEFORE) TUESDAY, MARCH 21 (BY 11:59 PM) ON FLRUNNERS.COM. WE WILL HAVE THE MEET PROFESSIONALLY TIMED, AND SPLIT THE COST ( $150 PER SCHOOL). THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL ENTRIES AFTER MARCH 21. SEEDING CANNOT BE CHANGED.
..SCHOOLS MAY ENTER UP TO 4 ATHLETES IN INDIVIDUAL EVENTS; ONE TEAM PER RELAY EVENT.
..ATHLETES MAY COMPETE IN UP TO 4 EVENTS (INCLUDING RELAYS).
THE TOP 8 PLACES WILL BE SCOREDMEDALS GIVEN TO THE TOP 3 PLACES AND TROPHIES TO THE GIRLS AND BOYS TEAM CHAMPIONS AND RUNNERS UP.
THE HOST SCHOOL WILL PURCHASE AWARDS WITH GATE RECIEPTS. ANY EXTRA COSTS WILL BE SPLIT AMONG PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS.
EACH SCHOOL MUST MAKE AVAILABLE AT LEAST ONE TIMER (IF NEEDED). THE JURY OF APPEALS WILL CONSIST OF HEAD COACHES OF THE OPPOSITE SEX TEAMS. THE HOST SCHOOL WILL HAVE A RESOURCE OFFICER AND / OR AN ADMINISTRATOR AND A TRAINER ON DUTY.
