Below are the Pinellas County Guidelines for Cross Country Meets-

we will be following these guidelines, be sure your parents and athletes are

aware. I have added to them in italicized to further elaborate how we are

meeting this requirement.

Meets/Competitions:

Athletes should always wear masks

unless they are actively participating in pre-warm up, race, and post cool down

activities. The goal is to get the athletes through the finish line and to a

team cool down area quickly as possible.

We are asking the

athletes wear a disposable mask to the start line until just before the start,

and then throw it in a garbage can, or it is collected by coaches in a waste

bag (we would prefer they are not thrown all over the ground)

There should be an emphasis in

pre-meet coaches' meetings that teams remain in individualized pods when

possible.

We will not be having a coaches meeting as

everything is in this email. Please be sure to read through carefully

Limit the number of teams in each

meet. Large meets will use chip timing.

We are using elite

timing!

The coaches were against the

requirement of staggered start times. They felt very strongly that it turns the

race into a time trial.

There will not be a staggered start, however

we ask teams allow space between them and the other teams on the start line,

and please do not line up until 5 minutes before your race.

Each athlete is responsible for

their own equipment/water bottle.

There will not be water at the finish line

as each athlete is responsible for their own water. Please make sure your team

has plenty of water. Please make sure you have a coach or level 2 volunteer at

the finish line with gloves on that can assist any of your athletes that need

it, or provide them with water. The team tent area is only about 150 meters

from the finish.

No sharing of equipment, water

bottles or food items.

Course width recommendation no

less than 6 feet.

For the most part the athletes follow a

sidewalk, however, they can also run on either side of the sidewalk to allow

for plenty of room. Athletes should avoid running in the street due to traffic.

Course officials and Coaches must

always wear masks.

Designate a player only area with

the goal to keep spectators sperate from athletes.

The team tent area

is along 5th st N, near 22nd ave. We ask that all team

tents are set up away from each other, and that parents are not permitted in

this area.

No Loitering by athletes or

spectators after the race is completed.

Please help your athletes move directly back

to their team area after finishing the race. We encourage athletes and

spectators to leave the park once the race is finished. Ribbons will be given

out as they finish, and trophies can be collected by coaches. There will not be

an Award Ceremony at the end.

** Please be sure to encourage your athletes/Spectators to

always maintain 6 ft of distance, to stay back from the course, and to always

wear a mask, please be sure that you are encouraging that they sanitize and

that you have provided hand sanitizer for your team**

Coaches are responsible for making sure there is adequate water at

the finish line for their athletes
. There will NOT be water provided at the finish line by the host

school.

It is the responsibility of the coach to make sure that the

athletes wear the correct bib on the front of their jersey with four (4) safety

pins. Likewise, each athlete will receive a shoe tag (or chip) that matches the

bib number. It does not matter which shoe the tag goes on.

CoachesMUST RETURNall

shoe tags

and unused bibs/pins back to the packet pick up area. Shoe tags must be

returned in numerical order in the bag supplied.*IMPORTANT*There

will be a $20.00 fee assessed for each shoe tag that is not returned. By

entering

the meet and picking up your packet, you agree to these terms and agree to pay

the timer for each missing OR broken shoe tag.
