Weather Procedure on race Days...during inclement weather a decision will be made by noon on race day.

Coaches INFO

Please teach kids: not to impede other runners. This means trying to prevent another runner from passing.  Throwing out arms, tripping, pushing and blocking. This is not soccer or football. Also run through the finish line. 

Race Day

Before the meet starts, coaches should pick up their team packet at the timer tent located at the finish line. Every kid on your roster will have an assigned BIB number. Use your printed roster to pass out assigned bibs. BIBs are supplied by me. 

FINISH LINE: Kids will be funneled down to a straight line (chute). At the end of the chute, kids will receive an index card with their overall finish. Volunteers will be writing down their BIB numbers before they exit the chute. Finish cards are to be given to the coach or team mom. Write finishing place on preprinted roster next to their name.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for entering your team and kids on FLRunners!

Here's a copy of your registration link if you need to make any changes. I plan on closing registration Saturday evening and working the team packets on Sunday.

As in the past, we will need volunteers to help with the finish line. We need 6-8 volunteers at the finish for each race. If the big schools can send 2 volunteers per race that will spready out the responsibility. Florida College, Tampa Bay HEAT, Foundation Christian, 1st Baptist. The volunteers can help with all 3 races or switch them out with others. I left off Bell Shoals since they hosted quite a few meets on their campus this year.

Small Schools, Can you bring a sleeve of water cups? Faith, Padaia, Central, Bayshore. We'll have close to 300 kids. If each school brings 100 cups that should cover our hydration needs at the finish.

There will be 3 port o potties on site.

And KONA ICE will be there too.

Coach's before the meet starts, Come to the Finish line and pick up your school packet. It will have bibs, safety pins, a printed roster and a writing pen. Each kid has a BIB and it must match their assigned bib number on the printed roster.

For FLYRA MIddle School State Cross Country Championships qualifying: 3k middle school only

10% of individual finishers. Girl finishers and boy finishers

30% of scored teams. Girls teams and boys teams

Scoring incomplete teams. If there are not enough complete teams for the team trophies, we will add "ghost runners" to complete a team score for awards.  However for FLYRA middle school state championship qualifying, teams with ghost runners will not be counted in the calculations.

Takes 5 kids to make a school team score. 

The Lowest score wins. 

For each of the races  2k, 3k,  We will calculate both a girls team score and a boys team score.

 For a school team, If there are not enough girls or boys to make a separate gender score for a school, we can score the girls( 4 or less girls) with the boys to make a boys team score. 

FAQ

Can I race a younger kid (3rd-5th grade) in the 3k to make a team score in the 3k. Yes, you may.

If I don't have enough girls to make a team score, can I score them with the boys? YES. Let me know before the race that your girls will be scoring with the boys. I will need to make a computer change.
