Check out the top 1,000 middle school boys 3K times run in the state of Florida before the FLYRA State Championships.

This Saturday will feature the 16th running of the middle school division at the FLR Invitational.  For those of us who grew up in the twentieth century, "middle school distance running" meant watching the better part of your PE class walk 600 yards as part of the Presidential Physical Fitness test. The kids in this race are not those kids.  They are fast - not just fast for middle schoolers, but fast for adults.  The top finishers would all be varsity-level high school runners, and some would even be in the mix in a state championship. We've come a long way, baby.

Dustin Fletcher caught up with several of the top middle school athletes at this weekend's FLYRA Middle School State Championship including girls 100 and 200m champion Tamari Davis of Pure Athletics Track Club to get their thoughts on the meet and their performances!

The 2015 FLYRA Middle School Cross Country State Championship is only a few days away. This Middle School Cross Country season has witnessed a number of outstanding performances by Florida's Middle School runners. On the cusp of the FLYRA Middle School State Championship Meet at Holloway Park in Lakeland, we take a look back at the most noteworthy performances of this Middle School Cross Country season as run in Middle School meets and not High School meets.

Train hard, win easy. That's the motto the girls of the HTTR Tornadoes train and compete by. Since 2012, Head Coach Stephen Dunn has taught his team- a small group, consisting this year of 14 middle-school aged girls- the foundations of cross country while developing some of the best young athletes in the state.
