Dear Florida MileSplit community,
You've been there...for all of it.
For nearly a decade you have provided a community that has helped shaped my life in more ways than one.
You were there when I was a young middle schooler who was just learning how to train and compete.
You were there when I moved across the state and in the midst of a new school, new coaches, and new teammates, you were a constant - a community to call on.
You provided encouragement when I started college and my plans of running at the next level didn't happen how I imagined them to be.
You were there for my success. But, more importantly, you were there for my struggles.
In the midst of my battles, you provided a forum for me to share my story - my story of learning to strive through struggle.
When I thought my running dreams were crushed, you showed me that there is purpose in struggle. It may take days, months, even years to see your determination come into fruition, but today, you showed me that it will happen.
You've been there for me, and today I promise to be here for you.
Hi, my name is Adair Lyden. I'm a former high school Floridian distance runner and I grew up with you, the Florida MileSplit community. Maybe you know me, maybe you don't, but soon we will see a lot more of each other.
Today, I am excited to announce that I will be serving as your new Florida MileSplit editor!
So, get ready for the same great statistics and speedy results we all know and love, and also prepare for content that will highlight you, the Florida MileSplit community. I want to highlight your stories, just as you gave me the opportunity to do so five years ago.
Coaches, athletes, parents, fans, I'm calling on you! If you have story ideas and topics that are important to you or if you would like to introduce yourself and say hello, I would love to hear from you.
Florida MileSplit would not be the same without you, the community. Today your Florida MileSplit coverage team commits to providing excellent content that informs and ignites your fire for cross country and track and field.
I am thrilled to begin this journey with you. So, see you on the cross-country course, on the track, on the internet, and everywhere in between.
Happy Training,
C. Adair Lyden
