Interview: East Lake hurdler Anna Cincotta

WATCH EAGLE TWILIGHT LIVE!

East Lake senior Anna Cincotta will be running one of her final meets on her home track on Thursday in the Eagle Twilight. One of the state's top tier hurdlers, the former soccer player turned dedicated track athlete bound for a D1 scholarship to Florida Atlantic University discusses her progression to this point in the sport. She is certainly excited for the opportunity to finally get a chance to see what she can do in the hurdles when the FHSAA State Finals roll around after having her 2020 outdoor season cut short due to the Covid pandemic.

Currently ranked #4 in the state of Florida with a season-best of 14.23 in the 100-meter hurdles, she will get the opportunity potentially on Saturday at the Dunbar Tigers Classic to compete against #1 ranked Eddiyah Frye of St. Thomas Aquinas and #2 ranked Lucheyona Weaver of Dunbar. The East Lake star also ranks #13 overall in the state of Florida for the 300-meter hurdles with a 45.10 personal best and ranks 18th statewide in the long jump at 5.54m.  Check out the current Florida girls 100-meter hurdles rankings here.

Before the weekend's big showdown at Dunbar, Cincotta will be heavily favored to win both races though on Thursday at the Eagle Twilight as a tuneup. Both meets will be live-streamed right here exclusively on MileSplit.com and flrunners.com.
