This past weekend at IMG Academy for the Coach Miami Presents: The Florida International Event, a pair of Terry Parker High School seniors in Aaron Bell and Desmyn McCall were rolling out personal bests left and right in the sprints and hurdles respectively.
The University of Houston commit Bell won the boys 100 meter dash for the 15-18 year old age group with a 10.36 personal best clocking, which ranks 8th nationally for all conditions and second fastest in Florida behind only IMG's own Jaylen Slade at 10.23.
Bell was not finished as he also dipped under 21 seconds for the first time in the 200 meter dash with a 20.99 clocking in that event as well.
McCall has consistently been ranked among the state's top five in both hurdles races of the 110 and 300 meter hurdles for much of the season. After sweeping the hurdles last week at the Bob Hayes Invitational, McCall got his first crack at the 400-meter hurdles which he clocked a new personal best of 55.03, which ranks third fastest in the nation as well.
The unsigned McCall who attends to make his college decision next week also recorded a new lifetime best in the 110-meter hurdles and flirting with sub 14 seconds in a 14.03 win at IMG.
A invitational meet this Saturday for McCall in the hurdles and City Championships on April 9th for both are left on the schedule before the two Terry Parker seniors embark on a championship season that has only one mutual goal to go out together as state champions.
