Annabella Tomasic is scheduled to run the 3200 and the 1600. She has a 4:59.50 1600 PR and a 11:04.65 3200 PR. We'll see if she doubles or not as the girl's 1600 is one of the best 1600 fields in the State this year. Don't let her 1600 and 3200 PR times fool you. The 7th grader at Lake Highland Prep went undefeated in Florida during the XC season winning the 2A State Championship in 17:32.90. She also won the FLYRA MS State XC Championship running the 3K course at Holloway Park in 9:56.75. She took some time off after the XC season and is again rounding into shape for the outdoor track season. If she runs the 3200, she would be the favorite.
In addition to Tomasic, FL #3 So. Caroline Couch of Maclay should be her closest challenger. Couch has run 10:44.19 this season. Three other girls have run under 11:00 so far this season. Jr. Masha Dorofeev of Fort Myers has gone 10:56.80, Sr. Avery Latto of Osceola 10:57.53, and Seast Ridge So. Rhyen Foley has run 10:59.48.
