First. Second. One. Two. It was a different race, but the same story for the Traylor sisters. Maggie (rising junior) and Katie (rising freshman) had just finished the 2A 3200m race at the 2006 state meet going away.

For Maggie, it was her 2nd individual state title of the night after winning the 1600m with a late kick over Kay Carrington of North Broward Prep. For Katie, the race was just another day at the office after pushing her sister and training partner from the starting gun to the finish line.

"It worked out really well because Katie is so close to my ability that we were able to alternate the lead every other lap. I mean, we live together so we just know how to push each other." Said Maggie.

This pattern was nothing new to the Traylor sisters as they finished 1-2 at districts and regionals while finishing 2-3 at the 1A state cross country meet.
