A look at this Friday's state meet strictly by the numbers! Based on the regional championships.
The showdown with Trayvon Bromell and Kendal Williams is the big highlight in the 100 meters, but don't forget about Ceolamar Ways--especially in that 200! Nick Uruburu and Jeffrey Green could battle it out into the 46-high range at 400m. The boys 3200 should be pretty intense, perhaps two or three in the 9-teens? Artie Burns will look for the sweep in the hurdles. Will Droogsma finally crack 200 in the disc? Jeremiah Green is the best triple jumper in the country--just how far will he go?? Bartram Trail, Gainesville, Palm Beach Lakes, and Northwestern battle for team glory.
Kaylin Whitney will race with a wind guage this week (let's hope it's legal wind)... can the freshman sensation break into the record books after 11.47/23.30 at region? Taylor Tubbs, Emily Edwards, Kacy Smith, and Rachel Givens look to push in the 4:50-low range in the 1600. Johna' Whitaker will try to sweep the hurdles, but faces stiff 300H comp from Kimani Austin-Reese. Lloydricia Cameron is on a mission to extend her throws state domination with a sweep. Can Nicole Greene finally notch a 6-footer in the high jump? Only two Florida girls have ever reached that height. Miami Northwestern looks to dominate the team battle.
