Scouting Report: Shorecrest Prep Boys

The Shorecrest Prep boys cross country team placed 12th at the Cross Country Finals in 2012. Fans, no need to worry though. The Chargers plan on charging on in 2013, and the boys told Coach Amy Raab that the running community had a whole lot to look forward to in 2013. Senior Ross Porter, who finished 14th at state last year is the team's number one runner. he will be flanked by a quarter of sophomores: Luke Peterson, Josh Miles, Justin Scooby, and junior Chris Lovesky, all of whom have state meet experience.

According to our preseason rankings the Shorecrest boys could be on pace for one of their best ever seasons. They currently sit third, just ahead of Pensacola Christian Academy. They will need to improve on their 1-5 split of 2:11.79.  The girls finished 4th last year. Could the boys equal or better that in 2013? They have a great chance and with such a young team look poised for future success.

Coach Raab Says...

"These kids are amazing. We really just show up. They are so motivated and really bring out the best in each other. It's not too often that you get a group that works this well together. We can't wait to see what the season brings!"
