Eighth grade distance runner Trevor Foley competed with the collegians this weekend at the Embry Riddle Last Chance Classic. His mom, Shannon Foley, uploaded this video of the 3000 meters where Trevor placed 18th in 9:31.76. Bobby Ormsby of Cypress Lake won the race in 8:46.94 just one one-hundredth of a second faster than his Florida Southern teammate David Tomchinsky. Bryce Bell, another middle school standout, was 28th out of 36 runners.
Even more impressive was Glendridge Middle School 8th grader Rafaella Gibbons who BEAT the field in the 3000 with a time of 10:14.38 which according to the flrunners.com database is the fastest ever for a middle school girl in the state, and fourth fastest ever for a middle school girl nationally!
