Joseph Franklin won the boys mile race with a time of 4:21.72, five seconds ahead of Alex Wills who was his closest competitor.
Ricky Quintana said on the forum that Manco challenged Franklin "for about half the race, then (Franklin) pulled away (at about) 2:10/2:11...Wills came up to nip Morales (at the finish)."
Kaitlin Shiver's win was much closer, beating out Jackie Drouin of Georgia by just .45 with a time of 4:58.49. Haily Neal "took it out quickly, 72, 2:30, but Drouin took lead. Shiver went with Drouin and then in final meters passed her. Great race. A (personal best) by 5-6 seconds (for Shiver)," said Quintana.
