1A Team Rankings
Rankings By: Doug Butler (Holy Trinity)- coachdbutler@aol.com1. Episcopal- McLeod is the favorite for the individual and the supporting cast isn't to shabby either. Jackson, Roces, and Berry are in all-state shape as well.
2. Trinity Prep- Curley leads a strong group of seasoned veterans and will be hard to beat for the runner up spot. Roberts and Trucelut are also hungry to knock the Eagles off the top.
3. Indian Rocks- Holden and the "R" brothers are looking good. The top four are as strong as any and if 5 comes through they will be on the podium.
4. Holy Trinity- Joiner is starting to make some noise and if the rest of the Tigers get healthy they will challenge TP for the runner up hardware.
5. Frostproof- Young Coach Moody has this young team improving every week. Alvarado is in top form and don't expect them to stop here. They are on their way up.
6. St. John Neuman- I predict a healthy Matt Clemente and a team on the rise. All 7 are within 36 seconds and with Matt back they will do nothing but improve.
7. Jupiter Christian- top 3 look good, with 4 & 5 not far behind. The key will be those two catching up with the front 3.
8. Providence- Same story here. Strong 1-3 and average 4-5. 18:46 average last week and can move up with a little improvement from 4-5.
9. PK Younge- 18:54 average last week and they follow suit of the two teams in front of them. Lots of time to state and will be working hard to stay in top 10.
10. Oak Hall- Very strong top 3 with Harris, Harris, and Matheny. #4 is average and 5 is working hard. Coaching and desire will get these guys by most teams.
11. Maclay- The Clayton brothers have been leading this crew and Coach Droze knows how to get blood from a turnip. Don't expect them not to move up.
12. Shorecrest- Not much info on their number 5 but their top 4 are solid. Only 30 sec between them, with an average of 18:45.
13. Keswick Christian- Werly is in top shape and will be a top 15 finisher, they are a little short on depth and will need the pack moving up to stay top 15.
14. Dade Christian- Hard time finding individual times but they had an impressive showing topping Jupiter and Berean. Was not sure if it was Jupiter Christian or just Jupiter.
15. Berean- Jarriel is looking for a state title and not about to let anyone have it easily. Top 4 are strong and will easily keep them top 15.
