On behalf of FLYRA and flrunners.com, we are really excited to bring you this 2014 championship event. There is a lot to be excited about this year:
- Our new world class venue at IMG Academy in Bradenton that just opened this season. Working with Loren, Blake, Jason, and the rest of their team is great!
- Dan Epstein has been brought on as co-meet director and he is a marvelous asset that will up our game!
- Dan has been given the budget to bring with him a contingent of fine certified officials that will make the meet second to none in that category.
- Elite Timing continues to bring us excellence in FAT goodness.
- We are thrilled to introduce the elementary division on a trial/exhibition basis this year with the following events: long jump, 100m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m. We'll see how the numbers go this year as an open event and then consider the future of keeping it, ditching it, or extending it into another championship division.
Registration is now open and a number of regional championship meets are on the calendar. Remember that any FAT time this season can count toward qualifying based on the time standards. The regional championships represent another opportunity to meet time standards, but also the top two places in each event at the FLYRA regional championship will qualify automatically.
