Whitney Picks Up Award For Best IAAF World Junior Championships Performer

East Ridge junior Kaylin Whitney added another award to her collection Thursday night winning the fan voted Best IAAF World Junior Championships Performer. Whitney, who was in the category with fellow Floridian Kendal Williams, was also up for the overall performance of the year which ended up going to 2014 Boston Marathon champ Meb Keflezighi. She dominated the world scene, winning three medals, including individual gold in the 200, bronze in the 100, and leading Team USA to the 8th fastest 4x100 time in World Juniors history.

Prior to World Juniors, she won her second state titles in both the 100 and 200 and continued her season with wins at the Dream 100 in New York City, Brooks PR in Seattle, and season best victories at USATF Junior Nationals in the 100 (11.10) and 2000 (22.49).

Congratulations to Kaylin on winning this award and we definitely look forward to the bright future in story! Rio 2016?
