Hillsborough's Dwyane Lawson and Gaither's Samson Moore have reset the leader boards in their signature events. Lawson, a Virginia Tech football signee, won the meet's male MVP award but also set the new state mark in the triple jump at 48-2.5. Lawson is the defending Class 3A state champion in the event and has had the luxury of training with state record holder Jeremiah Green, formerly of Hillsborough now at Alabama. 48-2.5 was a new personal record for Lawson and places him among the state's elite. Lawson also won the high jump (6-2) and was second in the long jump (21-00). His performance helped the Terriers take their fourth-straight team title at the meet.
Gaither's Moore swept both hurdle events but his 38.07 in the 300m hurdles not only set down the meet record from 2011, it takes over as the top mark in the state. It's a major po...
