Friday Highlights: Hale, Perkins, Seymore, Smith, Breen, Atkinson Lead Friday Performances

East Coast Classic

Kayla Hale and Amanda Perkins duked it out in a 1600 battle. Hale came up on top 5:01.44 to 5:02.00--new state and national leaders. Tori Lawson and Mallory White also close 5:09, 5:14.   Hale lead most of the race, but was given a challenge when Perkins (who had been sitting in her draft the entire race) makes a move at 200 meters.  Hale fought back down the final straightaway to grab back the lead and the victory!  Watch the video...

Jupiter Warrior Invitational

It was a sprinter's night in Jupiter. Leonardo Seymore had a fantastic 10.68, 21.42 times in the 100 and 200. Both are state leading times and the 200m leads the nation. His teammate Reshaw Exilen took second in the 200m (21.95) and won the 400m (49.14)--both are #2 in the state so far. And Stacey Anne Smith had a great opener, with a new state leading time of 24.62 in her 200m. She came back later to run 58.95 in the 400 for 2nd. Other New State Leaders: Jaybria Calcotte 57.44 (FL #2 400m), Delray Atlantic Girls 4:09.50 (FL #1 4x4), Patrice Collie 37-4.75 (FL #1 SP), Dwyer Boys 42.42 (FL #1 4x100).

Sam Burley Hall of Fame Meet (Day 1)

No results yet. Fireworks before 4x800 and trophies to all winners highlighted day one of the meet, which included field events and the 4x800.

Astronaut Open

Nate Donley and Trevor Andrews had a good discus battle. Donley won with a throw of 153-6.5, which Andrews settled for second at 152-2. Caitlyn Breen had a throws double win with a state leading 127-0 discus and a 36-9.5 shot (FL #2). Devin Spoerle ran a 11:28 3200 (FL #2). Ted Artz 800m 2:00.87 (FL #2).

Wildcat Open

Stoney Burns doubles in long jump and triple jump 23-0.75, 45-8 (FL #2).

Lake Highland Invitational

Amber White is the new state leader at 100 meters with a 12.04 performance, 25.95 200m. Brittany Koziara doubled with wins at 800m (2:18.75 FL #1) and 1600m 5:04.77 (FL #3). Andre Debose tied for the state lead in the boys 100m, 10.68.

Louie Bing Invitational (Day 1)

Lanie Whitaker nailed the best 400m time this year in the prelims (55.34). And the two Briannas from Northwestern (Rollins and Streeter) took care of business in the triple jump 36-4 and 36-1 are the new 1 and 2 in the state. Streeter also won the long jump (17-3) and Rollins took second in the 400 prelims.
