Miami Northwestern Girls Relay Teams

The Lady Bulls own the fastest times in the 4x100 (46.51), 4x400 (3:45.19) and 4x800m relay (9:22.49) in the state. Can they improve their marks and set national leading times in the process? They did last year at Florida Relays and with the speed Bob Hayes has year in and year out, it might come earlier in 2016.

Symone Mason & Kayla Johnson - Girls 400m Dash

These juniors are 1-2 in the nation and they also happen to be on the same Southridge Spartan team. The top three times in Bob Hayes history are all under 54 seconds.  Mason has a season best of 53.52 while Johnson has also shown her speed with a 53.85 at the Hallandale Invitational.

Tyrese Cooper - Boys 100, 200, 400, 4x400m Relay

It's hard to not keep an eye on the nation's top freshman phenom. He had a busy week with the GMAC Championships on Tuesday, but he is more than HYPED for this week's competition. His goal every time he steps on the track? To BREAK records.  Currently, he is ranked nationally in all three events and his 46.41 is the fastest in the country at 400 meters.

Miami Northwestern Vs. American High School Boys 4x400m Relay

The Bulls own the Bob Hayes Invitational meet record set back in 2011 when they ran 3:14.17 to beat St. Thomas Aquinas (3:15.04). The 2016 team has already run a state leading and US#2 3:14.29 while the boys from American High School went 3:15.79 last week at the GMAC Championship with freshman Tyrese Cooper on two days rest. How will they close out the meet?

Field Events: Taranique Alexander (LJ/TJ), Eron Carter (Boys Discus)

The Miami Northwestern girls score a lot of points week in and week out and jumper Taranique Alexander is a large part of that. The junior won the girls triple jump at the GMAC in a US#2 mark of 40'4.5" and followed that up going 19'0.5" in the long jump. Carter has his eyes set on the 200'0" mark in the discus and says it's just a matter of time. The Palatka senior and Virginia Tech football signee launched the implement 182'0" last weekend.

Amuru Patterson - Girls 100,200m Dash

The Haines City junior had a career day at the Kowboy Invitational. She'll go head to head with Rockledge's duo of Kaira Simmons, and Keosha Sanders at the Royal Invitational. Can she make it two weeks in a row and prove she is the real deal not just in Polk County, but in Central Florida?

Rockledge Girls 4x100m Relay

It's true a majority of the fast sprint teams will be in Jacksonville for the Bob Hayes Invitational. Don't tell that to the Rockledge girls who have been on a roll and want nothing more then to improve their FL#2 time of 46.63 and take that top spot from Miami Northwestern this weekend at the Royal Invitational.

Allen Wiggins - Boys Shot Put

TFA senior Allen Wiggins owns the state leader in the shot put with a throw of 56'10.5" from last week at the Kowboy Invitational. It seems like every week he is improving which means a new personal best and getting closer to 60 feet. To help the situation, he's throwing at home.
