Tsion Yared (Freshman, Pine Crest)
Of all the runners in the girl's Race of Champions, Pine Crest's Tsion Yared just might be the most experienced. Yared competed in the meet as a fifth grader and placing third in the middle school race. She was 31st as a sixth grader, won the meet in 2014 as a 7th grader, and finished third in 2015 where ran a season best of 18:17.80.
Her cross country season was cut short last year due to injury, but have no fear the small but mighty Yared is definitely back to her meet winning and 2A state champion form from 2014, winning the 3D Sommer Invitational to start the season and also winning last week's Pine Crest Cross Country Invitational with a FL#6 time of 18:11.18.
