Octavious Freeman and Tynia Gaither matched up many times in their high school career including at the Kowboy Invitational in 2011. Freeman, who turned professional after a stellar career at UCF, ran 11.42 and 23.48 while Gaither who had success at Southern Cal countered with times of 11.62 and 23.78. The two would meet again at the Adidas Dream 100 in New York City.
