The FLRunners.com Invitational is one of the largest and most competitive cross country races in the southeast United States drawing over 300 teams and 3,000 athletes over the course of two days and YOU and YOUR TEAM can be a part of it. The meet, which was started in 2001 will have a new home in 2017 at Holloway Park in Lakeland, described as one of the state's "true" cross country courses, with hills, and rugged terrain.
One aspect of the FLRunners.com Invitational is that it features a college race Friday night as well as as a middle school combined race on Saturday morning. It's a great opportunity to see the future of our sport in action and then our local college athletes, many of whom competed in this very same race as a high schooler.
Standout athletes and FLR Invite alums include Olympic bronze medalist Jenny Simpson, Hoka One One professional Stephanie Schappert, and 2007 Foot Locker National Champion Brasovan. On the boy's side, Former Florida Gator Jimmy Clark and a slew of Foot Locker and Nike national finalists like Matt Mizereck, Elliot Clemente, AJ DelValle, Nick Diaz, and more made their marks in meet history.
