The recruitment process is new to both Timothy Doyle Sr. and his son Tim Doyle. The younger Doyle is a senior at Freedom High School and a two-time 4A state champion in the 1,600m with a personal best of 4:15.42 and 1:53.64 for 800 meters. The pair went to Big Ten country this summer and recently took a recruiting visit to Ohio State University.
Tim Sr. played college football at Whittier College, but said back then it was way different. For him, he wanted to play in South California and ended up in Los Angeles. We caught up with him to get a parent's perspective and what advice he gave his son in the recruiting process.
"The main thing I told him is to take his time and do not rush it," he said. "I let him know it's going to be the biggest and most important decision of his life."
