The Oak Ridge High School girls made the long trek out to California, not to compete at Arcadia, like many others, but instead the first ever California Relays--a meet which has drawn controversy for reportedly attempting to compete with the long established Arcadia Invitational.
Oak Ridge found the competition they were looking for and won the SMR with a time of 3:53.60, for the new state record and just a third of a second from the national record.
The girls competed again in the 4x4 on Saturday, and reportedly won that event with a fast time of around 3:41, but official results have not yet been reported.
