In other Arcadia action, the Pine Crest girls fresh off their runner-up finish behind Great Oak in the 4x1600, placed 4th in the distance medley relay.
Their time of 11:58.30 was the third fastest ever in Florida and the sixth fastest in the country for 2018.
Mahdere Yared kicked off the event with the 1,200m portion and navigated her way to a 3:41 split before giving a clean handoff to Amanda Schwartz. Schwartz, ran the 400m leg of the race and crossed the line 59.6s later with the second pack of runners (4th-6th places.)
Emily Faulhaber was next up for the Panthers and ran a 67s quarter in her 800m to move the group into 4th place. Faulhaber's 2:20.2 set sophomore Tsion Yared up nicely for a fantastic finish.
"Much like the 4x1600m, Tsion Yared got the baton almost even with another runner and threw down a 4:56 to separate and secure 4th place as the next finishing team was 13 seconds back," Coach Paul Baur said, "She gave all she had and closed on Great Oak, but ended up just a couple of seconds off as they finished in 11:55.52."

He added the event was an awesome end to their racing and trip that helped the girls cement themselves into the national conversation for many years to come.
"They learned a ton about themselves, handled the pressure and are excited to come back next year and improve on their performances," Baur said.
