We are only two weeks into the 2026 Florida outdoor track & field season, and both the boys' and girls' rankings reinforce what many expect - Florida remains one of the premier high school track & field states in the country.
With both the boys' and girls' rankings beginning to take shape, this week has already delivered a wave of Florida Top 10 performances across nearly every event. And with more major invitationals still ahead this weekend, expect the rankings to become even more impressive and not stay the same for long.
Boys: Sprint Speed and Field Event Depth
Brady Pineo of Wesley Chapel clocked 20.93 in the 200m at the East Pasco Invitational, moving to Florida No. 3. Fletcher's Jaydyn Haywood followed with a strong 49.05 in the 400m at the Raines Season Opener, ranking No. 7 statewide.
In the field events, depth was on full display:
The Discus has three Top 10 marks this week, including Anthony Cavallaro-Howard of Indian Rocks Christian (53.23, No. 3), Duke Carpenter of the Geneva School (48.10m, No. 7), and Tyler Mullings of Lake Minneola HS (48.03m, No. 8).
Brison Sullivan of New Smyrna Beach delivered a 61.54m throw in the Javelin, moving to FL No. 2, while Tryce Mills of Spruce Creek added a No. 9 mark at 52.67m.
The High Jump saw a three-way tie at 1.92m for Florida No. 6 between Tucker Crawley of West Orange, Wesley Morisseau of Lake Minneola, and Raheim Roberts of Raines.
Maxwell Garcon of Gateway (Kissimmee) (14.31m) and Kaseem Shelley of Celebration(13.58m) went No. 3 and No. 10 in the Triple Jump, respectively.
The relays saw some new marks with Lakeland (42.17), Lake Howell (42.23), and Nature Coast Tech (42.43) all landing in the Top 10 in the 4x100m. Ocoee posted a 3:23.30 in the 4x400m (No. 10), while the 4x800m saw a tight pack at the Ocoee Relays with East Ridge (8:09.48), Ocoee (8:10.63), and East River (8:10.81) all ranking inside the Top 8.

Fletcher's Zyaire Thomas moved to No. 8 in the 400m with a 56.98 performance.
In the distance events, Eliana Black (2:16.89) of Northside Christian and freshman Marisa Mantecon of Our Lady of Lourdes (5:12.38) each claimed No. 8 rankings in the 800m and 1600m, respectively.

Highlighted Friday and Saturday Meets
With just under 40 more meets scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, we should see more Top 10 movement in the rankings. It's difficult with the volume of meets scheduled to look at each meet, but the Pirate Booty Invitational in Bradenton and the Southridge Spartan Invitational in Miami are two that may have the most impact on the Florida rankings.
Southridge Spartan Invitational
The Southridge Spartan Invitational is shaping up to be one of the premier early-season meets in South Florida, with several top-10 performances already on the board and multiple Louie Bing Invitational finalists set to square off once again.
