Bolles senior and Stanford signee, Charles Hicks, was recently named the Gatorade Florida Cross Country Runner of the Year.
The two-time state champion led the Bolles boys to a historic season this past year.
Hicks won the Eastern States 4k race in New York, lead his team to a perfect score sweep at the 2A region 1 meet, celebrated his second individual state title all while leading the Bolles boys to the lowest scoring finish by a Florida boys cross country team since 1986.
The senior did not stop there. In the post season, Hicks broke the tape at NXR southeast and qualified with his team for their second consecutive national meet.
It was a historic season and now Hicks adds Gatorade Cross Country Runner of the Year to the list of accomplishments.
In addition to his athletic talent, Hicks also maintains a 4.24 GPA and will study at Stanford University following graduation in the spring, according to Gatorade's press release.
Hicks joins an outstanding group of high school alumni who are all pursuing the sport at the collegiate level: Michael Phillips (2017-18), Caleb Pottorff (2016-17), Steven Cross (2015-16), and Sukhi Khosla (2014-15).
