This past weekend at FSU Relays, Chiles had a strong showing in the 1600m races. Emily Culley led the way in the Invite 1600m running a new PR of 4:58.06 followed by Caitlin Wilkey in 4:59.20, and Alyson Churchill in 4:59.34. Not only did Chiles have three girls go sub five minutes in one race, but earlier that morning, Olivia Miller ran a new PR of 5:09.27 to win the fast heat of the girls unseeded 1600m.

These four times puts Chiles at the top of all 1600m distance squads for the 2019 season. The Florida state record in the 4x1600m relay is 20:24 set by Pine Crest at the 2018 Arcadia Invitational. With their marks at FSU, the Timberwolves run a predicted 20:05.87 for the relay.

In Florida we don't often get the opportunity to race the 4x1600m relay -- a relay that tests the strength of a distance program.

We wanted to see which programs have the fastest average of their top four 1600m athletes to predict who would have the strongest 4x1600m relay team.

Here's what we found.
