Flagler Palm Coast sprinter and Matanzas transfer, Curtis Gray, was shot and killed outside a local Coin Laundry mat on April 13, 2019.
Gray was airlifted to Halifax hospital in Daytona Beach and later died from a gunshot to the stomach, according to Flagler Live.
The high school senior was a star on Matanzas football team and transferred in the track season to Flagler Palm Coast where he set a new PR of 12.93m in the triple jump, 53.01 in the 400m and 24.08 in the 200m.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide and was the first reported in the Flagler area this year, according to the Daytona Beach News Journal.

Coach David Halliday expressed similar pain in a Facebook post where he details how FPC and Matanzas will begin the healing process after losing a piece of their community.
