South Dade junior, Lamont Wright, took home the 4A Region 4 300mH win in a US No. 6 of 36.96 with US No. 7, Jamal Cooney of St. Thomas Aquinas right behind in 37.05.

Wright's 36.98 and Cooney's 37.05 put them as the top two seeds heading into this weekend's FHSAA State Finals with the reigning state champion, James Rivera, seeded third in 37.20.
Along with Wright, Cooney, and Rivera, keep an eye out for Nathan Farrell, Tyson Williams, and Sage Bertran who have all gone sub 38 seconds this season in the event and will be looking to run for a state title.
