McKinney Out As Episcopal Coach

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Joe McKinney was let go Thursday by Episcopal High School after undisclosed reasons. During his two-year stint at Episcopal, McKinney served as head coach of the boys cross country team and distance coach for the boys track team.

During Joe's tenure at Episcopal, the Eagles enjoyed success in cross country, winning the 2003 class 1A team and individual titles.

Episcopal was equally successfully on the track, with standout Tim McLeod posting the state's fastest time in the 3200, and winning the 2004 class 2A state title in that event. Eagle runners Vance Berry and Javi Roces placed 8th and 4th in the 3200 and 800 meter events, respectively, with the teams 4x800 placing 6th at this year's state meet.

Episcopal Athletic Director, Jim Cheyunski was unavailable for comment.
