Alyson Churchill announced her commitment to Florida State University on Friday. The Chiles standout took to Instagram to announce the news.
The future Seminole has had her best cross country and track seasons so far in her career in 2019 and she's looking to top that this coming outdoor season. Over the course of this year, Churchill has set two new very strong PR's of 2:14 in the 800m and 17:51 for the cross country 5k.
In 2017, the Chiles senior was the 3A cross country state champion with a time of 17:55 as a sophomore, that same school year she ran a 10:23 3200m and 4:55 1600m for her outdoor season.
Despite injury that struck prior to the 2018 cross country season, Churchill put up a fight to train smart and be healthy for when the time came and she managed a ninth place finish to lead her team to a state victory.
FSU is building a strong local recruiting class, landing both Chiles stars with Churchill and Caitlin Wilkey leading their 2020 commitments.
