Caroline Wells ran a stunning 17:16.50 at the 2020 FHSAA State Finals back in Nov. to break the course record by just over 1 second. Three weeks later she would see that record fall as Brooke Rauber from New York put down a 16:54.90 to place 2nd in the 15-18 5K at the AAU National Championships. Wells placed 7th in 17:20.95.
Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee plays host to some of the best Florida cross country races as well as to national championship races, with both AAU and USATF holding their championships races there multiple times now. In 2021 we'll get to see the NCAA D1 XC Champs here as well. 2020 managed to bring a stellar season to the ARP with the girls 5K and 3K records going down as well as the boys 3K.
