This weekend was packed full of indoor meets and outdoor pre-season classics for Florida athletes. This weekend we will head into a packed pre-season calendar with many athletes making their debut for the first time in over a year!

Aside from the elite performances posted at the East Coast Invitational up in Virginia Beach, VA this weekend, the girls 600m race at the TimeSpann Indoor/Outdoor 6th Annual Cobra Trials gave us a good look at whats to come in the 800m distance down south. Northeast duo Samantha Kavanagh and Jahnya Hill took the event with their 1:37.52 and 1:38.68 performances. Kashia Hoo, Kelyse Jackson, and Christiana Coleman rounded out the top five with their sub 1:45 performances.

Up in Central Florida earlier this week, the Lake Wales 4x800m boys made their debut with a 8:17 performance -- a strong pre-season mark and one that can be expected to dip into the sub-8 minute range here very soon.

There is a big track and field weekend ahead!
