The Greater Miami Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships scheduled for this Wednesday and Friday, March 10th and 12th at the Traz Powell Stadium in Miami has been postponed. One of the premier showcase events for South Florida athletes will not be happening at least this week.
The GMAC executive secretary Denarvise Thornton, Jr. (formerly of the FHSAA) sent out an email to athletic directors and coaches on Tuesday stating due to coronavirus vaccination centers being set up and hosted at Miami Dade College, which the track venue is located, was the chief reason for the postponement of the event with traffic flow being a major issue to host the track meet in conjunction at the same location.
