Interview with Montverde Academy junior Micayah Holland as she makes her homecoming to Virginia this weekend for the East Coast Invitational at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Holland, currently ranked US #4 in the 60 meter dash (7.35), originally comes to Florida from Virginia where she was a state champion sprinter at Princess Anne High School and Norfolk Christian. She will be racing in the 55-meter dash as the top seed and favorite with a 6.95 best as well as the 4x200 meter relay with her talented Montverde Academy squad.
A former dual-sport star athlete in basketball as well which was part of the allure and draw to come to Montverde Academy with their nationally known basketball programs, Holland actually decided this year to focus entirely on the sport of track and field and giving up basketball.
