With Hurricane Ian approaching Florida this week and the impact potentially to cause significant damage and havoc to a good portion of the state as well as locally in Polk County where Holloway Park is located for this weekend's HOKA flrunners.com Invitational, meet management has postponed the meet to another weekend in two weeks for Friday and Saturday, October 14th-15th at the same venue.
With many school districts already canceled for the week and expected widespread damage across the state from the storm, we felt this was the best decision to make with the uncontrollable force of Mother Nature and making sure everyone stays stafe instead of trying to travel through the storm and focus on recovery efforts in their areas.
However, we are not throwing in the towel and canceling the event outright for the season and will now try again in two weeks to host the largest cross country event annual for the state of Florida. We hope you all can make it.
Hopefully, teams and individuals originally scheduled to run can make the new date. The meet registration will be re-opened for teams and coaches to adjust their entries as well as new teams that might want to compete on the new date.
If you cannot make the new date and need a refund, please email brandon.miles@flosports.tv to start that process.
