WATCH: Montverde Academy Clocks Florida State Record In 4x4

Arguably the best race from the 2023 Florida Relays and one of the last for the high school competition was the girls 4x400 meter relay finals battle between Florida own Montverde Academy and Maryland national powerhouse Bullis School.

The results produced a US #6 all-time and state record winning time of 3:37.28 by the Montverde Academy girls including Adaejah Hodge, Michelle Smith, Ellise Dickinson, and Alivia Williams holding off Bullis School pressing them for first place on every leg in a US #11 all-time runner-up performance of 3:37.98.

The previous state record in the event was held by the St. Thomas Aquinas squad of 2014 from their 3:38.26 performance at the Texas Relays. Montverde Academy is one of only 3 relays in Florida history to break 3:40 in the event.

Bullis made the trip all the way from Potomac, Maryland to compete in Gainesville this past weekend and made a very successful weekend in Florida winning the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay with nation's best times as well as Myla Greene winning the girls 100 meter hurdles.
