Highlights of the FHSAA 2A State Championship

On a hot and breezy day, the FHSAA 2A State Championship produced several new State Meet records and nationally ranked performances.  


In the girl's 400mH, Montverde Academy Sr. Michelle Smith set a new FHSAA State Meet Record  with a time of 57.82.  Her 57.82  was a US #2 just off her own US #1 56.82!  The University of Georgia signee also won the 100mH in 13.78 and ran a leg on the Montverde girls'  new FHSAA State Meet Record 3:40.75 in the 4x400m Relay.

Another state Meet record fell in the Boy's Javelin when Atlantic Port Orange Sr. Preston Kuznof threw the Javelin 64.36m (211-01.25). Kuznof is the US #2 ranked thrower with a throw of 2:14.11.

The Montverde Academy girls set a new FHSAA Meet Record in the 4x400M Relay with a 3:16.50.  The team was  Alivia Williams, Michelle Smith, Dasia Reed and Elise Dickinson.

Florida HS Sr. Micahi Danzy had a huge day running a 45.88 for the win in the 400m and a 20.88 in his 200m win.  Danzi's 400 time is a FL #2 time and his 200 is FL #3.

In the Girl's 400m, Montverde Sr. Alivia Williams went 52.80.  Just off her US #2 time of 52.30.  She also won the Girl's 200m (24.02) and ran the anchor on the girls winning 4x400m Relay.  She is headed to the University of Iowa in the fall.

Ransome Everglades St. David Serra won the boy's 1600 and 3200 double.  Serra who is headed to Wake Forest, running with patience and closing fast the last 400 in both races, went 4:15.10 in the 1600m and 9:09.15 in the 3200.




The Bishop Kenny girls ran a FL #3 4x800m 9:13.84 in their win.
