The 2027 class has some incredible boy's talent. One of the standouts is Marcelo Mantecon of Belen Jesuit. Mantecon had a record-setting year and is the Florida MileSplit Freshmen Boys Track & Field athlete of the year. He leads the freshman rankings in the 800 (1:56.69), the 1600 (4:10.88) and the 3200 (8:50.02). At the FHSAA 3A State meet he and another freshman, Gulf Breeze's Andrew Beroset ran FL #1 and 2 All-Time Freshman 1600's and US #1 & 2 this season. Mantecon was third in a 4:10.88 and Beroset 4th in 4:11.27. Mantecon's 8:50.02 is the Florida All-Time Freshman 3200m and a US #1 All-Time Freshman record.
