Fl's Young Distance Runners in Spotlight at AAU Club Champ

Dominic Johnson of the St. John's Striders back in January at the Legends of Alachua County Meet winning the Boy's Youth 3000m in 9:56.71

Several of Florida's Young distance runners took the spotlight at the AAU National Club Championships.  Mason Polonia, Dominic Johnson and Eva Delaney were all double winners.  On Tuesday the three won 3000m Championships and today they took their respective 1500m Championships.

Two other young Florida runners won championships in the 1500m.  Arielle Gorlovetzky won the girl's 10-year-old race in 5:15.58 and the Panther Elite's (Dillard) Miley Gill won the 13-year-old girl's race in 4:53.66.  Her teammate, Abigail Richards won the girl's 15-16 yr old 1500m with a 4:58.63.

Florida athletes took home more firsts in the Field Events today with 13 yr old Onisty Weekly of the Trailblazers winning the weight double.  She won the Girl's 13 yr old 1.0 Kg Discus with a 32.96m 108-02 throw  yesterday and came back to win the Girl's 13 yr old 6 lb Shot Put with a toss of  12.56m 41-02.50.
