On a day that saw somewhat cooler temperatures and less humidity for August in Ft. Myers, Sr. Craig Allard and Jr. Jazlyn Forbes took home early season wins at the Dunbar Tiger Classic. Allard, 11th in the 3A State Championships last fall and #13 pre-season ranked, started off his Senior year with a workman-like victory. At the mile, back some 30m, Allard, with his experience, worked his way to the front and finished relaxed in his early season win in 16:11.70. Forbes, just a Junior, came in as the #6 ranked girl in the State. She led through the first mile and comfortably took home the win in 18:46.00.

Naples took the team title with three runners in the top 10 overall. Jr. Reece Lolly who was 3rd overall in the race with a 16:25, Sr. Michael Brewer, who was 4th in 16:32.80, and Sr. Jack Marshall was 7th (16:48.80).

Our Lady of Lourdes Academy traveled across the state from Miami to take the girl's varsity race with a strong pack finish of 5-8 and 13. Up front for Lourdes, and one of only 5 girls under 20 minutes was Sr. Lucia Castillo-Rios who went 19:54.50.
