Jeremiah Smith is shining on the National Stage. The 2023 two-time FL State Track champion will be center stage in Friday's Ohio State-Texas football matchup. This may be a tough one for some Florida college football fans, but the Chaminade-Madonna Prep Florida football and track & field standout, who committed to play at Ohio State over offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and USC, has had a standout freshman year for the Buckeyes and is expected to be one of the key players in Friday's semi-final college playoff game.
Smith, the top 5-star recruit and the top-ranked prospect in the 2024 college football class, was also the highest-ranked wide receiver recruit in the country. For those in the track & field community, however, especially here in Florida, he is also known for his talent and speed on the track. In 2023, he was the FHSAA 1A state 110mH and 400mH champion. He won the 110mH in 14.34 and returned in the 400mH with a time of 54.68.
I had the opportunity to interview Smith after both of his 2023 wins. Below are both interviews and the race video replays from his state title races.
