Mary Summers of Seven Rivers Christian School burst onto the scene last fall when she finished 3rd in the FHSAA 1A State XC Championship as a 7th grader running an 18:18.40. She followed that up on the track with a 5:01.90 4th place finish in the 1A 1600m at State and a 3rd place finish in the 1A 3200m with an 11:03.02.
She is one of a talented group of 8th graders this year. She opened her season with a 7th place finish at the Cecil Field Summer Classic with an 18:46.00. She has followed that up with three 1st place runs at Whispering Pines in 18:37.30, the Grayling Memorial Pasco Invitational in 19:00.30 and at the Lecanto Invitational with an 18:43.80. She is one of Florida's young FUTURE STARS.
