This morning's frigid temperatures in Charlotte, NC, may have affected the 41 Florida boys and 17 girls who ran on the McAlpine Park course in the Foot Locker XC South Regional Championship races. Only one Florida runner qualified for the Foot Locker National Finals on Dec.14th in San Diego. Senior Parker Adams of Bolles HS was ninth in the boy's championship race in 15:08.80. Adams was the FHSAA 2A state champion this year, and his time was just off of his 15:06.11 PR that he ran last weekend in his 13th place finish in the Nike Cross Nationals Southeast Regional.
In the girls' championship race, Senior Margaret Bartlow of North Bay Haven was the top Florida girl, finishing 30th with an 18:12.30. Bartlow was the FHSAA 2A girls' state champion this year.
