Based on her performance throughout the year and the results of your vote, Senior Mackenzie Roy of Spruce Creek HS is the 2024 MileSplit FL Girls XC Runner of the Year.
Roy is the number one ranked girl in Florida with a 17:01.00 and was the FHSAA 4A State champion. She had an outstanding senior year, winning eight of her ten races.
She was second back in August at her season opener at the Cecil Field Summer Classic (18:13.00). She won her next three races at the Deland XC Invitational (18:30.30), the Coach Joe McKinney Classic (17:33.30) and the Spruce Creek-Savannah and David Mahoney Memorial Invitational (17:46.40). She was second at the Bale n Trail (18:16.10) at the end of September.
Then she won her next five races, the New World Fall Spectacular (17:14.00), the FHSAA 4A District 1 (17:01.00) and FHSAA 4A Region 1 (17:15.39), and the 4A State championship 17:19.50). In her ten races she was sub-18 in seven times.
