Gillian Carvalho of Ransom Everglades is currently the top Middle School sprinter in the state. The eighth grader is on top of the 100, 200, and 400m rankings with times of 12.92, 26.02, and 58.50, respectively. She has PRs in the 400 of 55.63 and the 800 of 2:24.84. Her 400m PR came in her fifth-place finish in last spring's FHSAA 2A state 400m finals. In 2024, she was also third in the FLYRA State Cross Country Championships with an 11:08.01 and 39th in the FHSAA State Cross Country Championships with a 20.07.90. She may not know it yet, but watch for her to take her talent and speed to the 800!
